1. Who we are, and what you're agreeing to
Wallpaper maker (the "Service") is operated by Function Desk LLC ("we", "us"), a limited liability company formed in the State of Florida, United States. The Service lives at freewallpapermaker.com and includes the website, the wallpaper studio, share pages, the showcase, the API, the downloadable agent skills, and any related software we publish.

support@functiondesk.com
By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you use it on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind them, and "you" means them too. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service — no hard feelings.
2. What the Service does
The Service lets you design desktop wallpapers that carry useful information: reference panels, labelled bays for organising icons, and colour-block layouts. Backgrounds are generated procedurally from a seed or composed from restricted vector artwork; text, artwork and layout can be written by you or proposed by an AI model at your request. Downloads are static images; they do not update themselves or move local files. Each wallpaper can carry a machine-readable "screen map" that software — including AI agents you run — can use to arrange icons on your computer.
We change the Service often. Features may be added, altered, or removed. We keep a public changelog and try to give notice before removing anything you rely on, but we can't promise every feature will exist forever.
3. Accounts
- You need an account to generate AI content, save work, or share it. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into these terms where you live. Accounts and AI features are for adults only at launch.
- Keep your sign-in and any API tokens private. Anything done with your account or token is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly if you think either has been compromised, and revoke the token from your account page.
- One person, one account. Don't create accounts by automated means or to work around limits.
- You can close your account at any time by writing to support@functiondesk.com; see section 11 for what happens to your data.
4. Free use, subscriptions and credits
The Workshop is free to edit and download from. New accounts get trial credits and up to three 30-day unlisted sharing links. AI use beyond the trial, cloud saving, lasting sharing links and gallery eligibility need an active paid subscription. AI actions also consume credits. What each plan includes is stated on the pricing page at the time you buy, and that description forms part of these terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the stated interval until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account; you keep the paid features until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Credits are consumed by AI requests and gallery backing. Subscription credits reset each billing period and don't carry over; purchased credit packs don't expire while your account exists; an active membership is required to buy or use them. New accounts receive ten one-time trial credits for AI requests or gallery backing, including eligible wallpapers they own. Backing spends credits; it does not transfer them to the creator. Owner opt-in and approval are required; the default gallery threshold is ten credits. Sharing is limited to 500 active links for Creator accounts, ten new submissions per account per day, and five waiting for review at once. Site-wide capacity limits can temporarily pause new submissions. Free trials share a limited weekly AI budget and may pause when it is reached; unused trial credits are retained. Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred or exchanged.
- Public designs can be downloaded at all supported sizes without a subscription or watermark. After membership ends, you retain access to existing cloud drafts and can export, archive or withdraw your own work. Existing shared links remain accessible until withdrawn. They are not listed in Explore.
- Price changes apply from your next renewal and we'll tell you at least 30 days before.
- Refunds. If something we sold you doesn't work as described and we can't fix it within a reasonable time, we'll refund it — write to support@functiondesk.com. Otherwise payments are non-refundable except where the law where you live says otherwise, which we will honour.
- Failed payments. If a renewal fails we'll retry and let you know; paid features may be suspended until it succeeds.
- Payments are handled by a third-party processor. We never see or store your full card details.
5. Your content
The wallpapers you make, the text you type, the prompts you write and the files you organise are yours. We claim no ownership of them.
So that the Service can work, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, render, and — only where you choose to share or publish — display and distribute your content, including making thumbnails and social-media previews of it. This licence lasts as long as the content is on the Service, plus a reasonable period for backups.
Sharing links. Free accounts can create up to three active unlisted links, which expire 30 days after submission and cannot enter the gallery. Creator membership provides lasting links and gallery eligibility. Existing temporary links keep their expiry after an upgrade; publish a new member link for lasting access. Descriptions and search tags are generated automatically during review. Unlisted wallpapers are absent from Explore. Gallery listing requires your opt-in, screening and sufficient backing. Anyone with a link can view, download or forward it, and external services may show a preview. A link is not a password or access restriction. Don’t share confidential content. Withdrawal disables the hosted link; copies already downloaded are outside our control.
Wallpaper licensing. All new shared wallpapers use CC0 1.0. Before publishing, you must confirm that you have the rights needed to share the wallpaper under CC0 and agree to apply CC0 to your contributions. Existing releases and imported collections keep their recorded terms; material under incompatible terms cannot be republished as CC0 through this workflow.
Importing a file, pasting notes or saving a private draft does not publish that content or place it under CC0. Only import material you have permission to use. Before publishing, the sharing form explains the CC0 terms and asks you to confirm your rights and agreement to those terms.
CC0. Publishing under CC0 dedicates the rights you control to the public domain to the extent allowed by law, with the fallback license in the CC0 legal code. Others may copy, modify and redistribute the wallpaper, including commercially, without attribution. This applies to both gallery listings and unlisted links; removing a hosted link does not revoke rights already granted. CC0 does not clear third-party copyright, trademarks or privacy rights. AI generation alone does not establish that content is public domain. Existing releases and imported collections retain their recorded terms; the app's code and bundled fonts are not covered by a wallpaper's CC0 dedication.
Sharing versions and privacy. A submission stays private until screening finishes. A clear automated result with no flagged categories can enable its unlisted link. Uncertain, flagged or failed results stay private for review or retry. Screening does not certify legality, ownership or script safety. Private prompts, raw source material and revision history are excluded. Review the entire wallpaper before sharing, and clearly disclose AI assistance when sharing it elsewhere. AI features are available only in supported locations. Do not bypass location or safety restrictions. Later edits need a new submission. Withdrawal disables the hosted page and assets; downloaded copies cannot be recalled and licenses already granted remain subject to their terms.
6. Acceptable use
These rules apply to private AI requests as well as shared content. When using OpenAI-powered features, you must also follow OpenAI's Usage Policies. Only submit material you have permission to send to our model providers. Do not submit patient records or other protected health information; this service is not set up for HIPAA-regulated processing.
Please don't use the Service to:
- create or publish anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence;
- infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights — this includes shared wallpapers that reproduce protected text, logos or characters;
- publish other people's personal information without their consent;
- upload malware, or use share links or the API to distribute it;
- scrape the Service at a rate that harms it, or in breach of
robots.txtandllms.txt; - work around plan limits, credits, watermarks or access controls;
- impersonate us or anyone else, or claim a wallpaper was published by someone who didn't publish it.
We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where practical we'll tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, contact us and we'll look again.
Reporting. Every shared wallpaper has a Report it link on its own page — that is the quickest route, it needs no account, and it tells us exactly which wallpaper you mean. You can also email legal@functiondesk.com with the share link and enough detail for us to assess it. We review reports promptly, remove anything that breaks these rules, and tell you the outcome if you left us a way to reach you. Removal takes a wallpaper down everywhere at once — its page, its preview image and the API.
6a. Copyright claims and counter-notices
We respond to notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Send them to our designated agent:
Copyright AgentFunction Desk LLC
11100 SW 93rd Crt Rd, Ste 10-228
Ocala, FL 34481-5188
United States
legal@functiondesk.com
A complete notice includes all of the following:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed;
- the link to the wallpaper you want removed, so that we can find it;
- your address, telephone number and email;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
If we remove something of yours and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same agent, containing your signature, identification of what was removed and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your contact details, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district. We may restore the material after ten business days unless the original claimant tells us they have filed suit.
We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
7. AI-generated and reference content
Text drafted by an AI model, and the example reference wallpapers we publish, are provided for convenience. They can be wrong. Conversion tables, command references, formulas, safety guidance, cooking temperatures, medical, legal, financial, electrical or structural information on a wallpaper is informational only and is no substitute for checking a primary source or asking a qualified professional. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on.
You own the output generated for you, to the extent the law allows. Similar or identical output may be generated for other users; we can't grant exclusivity over it. Don't present AI output as the work of a specific person or organisation without their consent.
8. API, agents and the wallpaper skills
- API access is provided for your own use and for software acting on your behalf, within the rate limits and plan we publish. Tokens are personal; don't share them.
- Agents you run act as you. Anything an agent does with your token — generating, publishing, spending credits — is your responsibility, whether or not it's what you meant.
- The downloadable skills and scripts (such as
desktop-tidy) move and arrange files on your own computer. They are offered as-is, default to a dry run, and keep an undo snapshot, but they act on your computer screen. Back up first, read the plan before applying it, and use them at your own risk. We are not responsible for files moved, renamed or lost by a script you or your agent ran. - We may change the API and screen-map formats. We version them and describe changes in the changelog; where we can, we keep old versions readable for a reasonable time.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service — its software, design, art algorithms, style presets, layouts, documentation, example wallpapers we authored, and the Wallpaper maker name and logo — belongs to Function Desk LLC or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it as these terms allow. Don't copy, sell, or reverse engineer it, except where the law lets you regardless of what we say here, or where we've published something under an open licence (each such item says so).
Wallpapers you download from the Service are yours to use, including commercially, on your own devices and in your own work. Fonts are used under their respective licences; procedural backgrounds carry no third-party claim.
10. Third-party services
We rely on other companies to run the Service — for example cloud hosting and AI processing (OpenAI, or Amazon Bedrock where configured), and payment processing. Wallpaper fonts are bundled with the application. Your use of those parts is also subject to those providers' terms. We choose providers carefully but don't control them and aren't responsible for their outages or actions.
11. Privacy, in short
We collect the minimum we need: your email address to identify your account, the wallpapers and prompts you create, payment records held by our processor, and ordinary server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) for security and to keep the Service running. We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in; we don't run advertising or sell personal data. Visit counting with Google Analytics runs only if you agree to it in the banner, and can be switched off again from the footer. When you request AI help, relevant prompts, notes, reference designs and wallpaper text are sent to the configured provider. Submitted public designs and their descriptions are sent to OpenAI for content screening and may be inspected by our reviewer, who sees the design drawn in their own browser from that text. Your uploaded personal photos stay in your browser and are excluded from these requests. Generated wallpaper results, including alternatives and drafts that need layout fixes, are kept privately in your account as text/JSON history together with their prompts, supplied notes and design feedback. Discarding a preview does not delete its history entry. Sharing a result is a separate, reviewed action; prompts and raw notes are excluded from public versions. We retain text/JSON designs and restricted review records, not uploaded photos. We do not use your content to train models. OpenAI does not use API data for training by default unless opted in. We request no response storage; provider abuse-monitoring retention and documented exceptions can still apply. See OpenAI data controls.
You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time by writing to support@functiondesk.com. Closing your account deletes your saved library; shared wallpapers are removed from public view and deleted from our systems within 30 days, except where we must keep a record for legal or accounting reasons. The privacy notice is the full statement and takes precedence over this summary where they differ.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content — AI-generated or otherwise — will be accurate. Some jurisdictions don't allow some of these disclaimers, so some may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Function Desk LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or the cost of substitute services, arising from or related to the Service — including files moved by scripts you ran and decisions made in reliance on wallpaper content. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and fifty US dollars (US$50). Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
14. Indemnity
If a third party brings a claim against us because of content you published through the Service, or because you or your agents broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses in dealing with it, provided we tell you promptly and let you take part in the defence.
15. Ending things
You can stop using the Service, or close your account, at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service — in that last case we'll give at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your library. Sections that by their nature should survive (your content licence for backups, IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) do.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when they last changed, and the changelog records what. For material changes we'll notify account holders by email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the new terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before starting any formal proceedings, you agree to write to us at legal@functiondesk.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally. Subject to that, the state and federal courts located in Florida have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you're a consumer, you keep any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
18. Miscellany
- These terms are the whole agreement between us about the Service and replace earlier ones.
- If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stands.
- If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given up the right to.
- You can't transfer your account or these terms to someone else; we may transfer them to a successor of the business, and will tell you if we do.
- Notices to you go to the email on your account. Formal notices to us go to legal@functiondesk.com, or by post to the address in section 1; for anything else, support@functiondesk.com.
